Note: if weld is longer than 150*a, the weld length must be reduced in accordance with rules in section 4.11 in EN 1993-1-8.

Design example:

Welded connection is loaded according to the figure below. Calculate compliance with EN 1993-1-8.

F = 10kN, L = 50mm, a = 3mm, fu = 470MPa
